About Grand Lodge

Grand Lodge is the parliament of the Mark Order in Queensland. It meets in Communication four times a year on the evening of the first Wednesday in February, May, August and November, to make decisions concerning the welfare of the Order. Normally these meetings are held at the Stones Corner Masonic Centre, however recently a Communication was held in Gladstone to allow our Country members a more active involvement in the affairs of their Grand Lodge. All Mark Master Masons of good standing in this jurisdiction are allowed to attend the Communications of the Grand Lodge and all have  the right of voting on matters brought before the Grand Lodge.

Communications last for about one hour and a half, and are followed by a supper in an adjoining room. .

Grand Lodge and the Order in General is presided over by the Grand Master who is elected annually by Grand Lodge, and may serve for up to 4 years. He is assisted by Grand Officers who are members of the Mark Lodges holding warrants from the Grand Lodge. Most of these officers are appointed annually by the Grand Master with the exception of the Grand Treasurer who is elected by the Grand Lodge every year in May and the Grand Secretary who is appointed by the Grand Master and holds office without re-appointment at the pleasure of the Grand Lodge. These Officers are not restricted to a limited term of office like the Grand Master.
